Arlington & Fort Caroline Homes for Sale

Arlington is the large part of Jacksonville east of the St. Johns River and Downtown, reaching toward the Intracoastal Waterway, with the Fort Caroline area along the river on its north side. Arlington grew rapidly after the Mathews Bridge opened in 1953 and is known for mid-century modern homes, including designs by local architects Robert C. Broward, Taylor Hardwick and William Morgan. Fort Caroline National Memorial recalls the French settlement of 1564, and Jacksonville University's campus is here as well. Atlantic Boulevard, completed in 1910, still carries traffic east to the beaches, and Naval Station Mayport is roughly 8 to 14 miles away depending on the neighborhood.
