Merrill Hills is a residential subdivision in Jacksonville along the Merrill Road corridor in Arlington, on the east side of the St. Johns River. Arlington is one of the city's established suburban areas, developed heavily in the decades after the Mathews Bridge opened in the 1950s, and its neighborhoods are known for mature tree canopy, curving streets and homes set well back from the road. Merrill Road itself is a busy east-west route linking the Arlington Expressway side of the community with Fort Caroline Road and the neighbourhoods toward the river and Mill Creek.
