Old Airport Farms is a rural residential area in Palatka, in Putnam County, taking its name from the farmland around the city's old airfield on the south side of town. Palatka itself sits on the west bank of the St. Johns River, where the river bends at the Memorial Bridge, and this area lies inland from the historic riverfront districts, in a landscape of fields, woods and scattered homes on larger parcels. Housing here is country in character, single-family homes with room around them rather than homes on subdivision lots, in a county where much of the land remains agricultural or timber. Public schools are part of the Putnam County School District. US 17 and State Road 19 connect Palatka to Crescent City, Green Cove Springs and the rest of the St. Johns River corridor.
