Pottsburg Landing takes its name from Pottsburg Creek in Jacksonville, the tidal tributary that winds through the city's Southside before joining the St. Johns River near the Arlington side of town. The neighborhood sits in established residential country east of the river, where creek marshes, oak hammocks and older subdivisions mix along the roads feeding into Atlantic Boulevard and Beach Boulevard. Homes are single-family in character, set on shaded streets a short drive from Regency Square, the St. Johns Town Center and downtown Jacksonville across the Mathews Bridge. Public schools are part of Duval County Public Schools. The creek itself, with its boat ramps and brackish water, gives this inland area a distinctly riverine feel.
