Springfield, Downtown, Paxon & Trout River South Homes for Sale

This area takes in Jacksonville's urban core on the north side of the St. Johns River: Downtown's Northbank, historic Springfield just to the north, the Eastside, and the Brentwood, Paxon and Trout River neighborhoods beyond. Springfield was laid out in 1869 and is known for its large historic homes; a preservation society formed in 1975 has helped restore much of it. Downtown adds riverfront condos and city amenities, while the Eastside holds Jacksonville's stadium, arena and baseball grounds. Brentwood is a neighborhood of bungalows, and neighborhoods to the north border the Trout River. NAS Jacksonville and Naval Station Mayport are each roughly 12 to 19 miles away, and NSB Kings Bay is about 40 miles north. Public schools are part of Duval County Public Schools.
