Trout Lake Shores is a subdivision on the Trout Lake side of Interlachen, the Putnam County lake town between Palatka and Gainesville. As the name suggests, this section is oriented to the shoreline, in a town defined by its many small lakes set among sandhills and pine flatwoods. Homes here sit along local residential streets close to the water, in a setting that mixes year-round houses with the lake cottages common across this part of Putnam County. Housing is single family in character. Interlachen provides schools and everyday basics in town, and Palatka, a drive east on State Road 20, adds larger shopping, the hospital, and access to the St. Johns River. The Ocala National Forest begins not far to the south. See current Trout Lake Shores homes for sale below.
