West Jacksonville Homes for Sale
West Jacksonville covers the city's broad western edge, from older neighborhoods along Normandy Boulevard and Jacksonville Heights out to the suburban communities of Argyle Forest and the Duval County side of Oakleaf. It also includes the Cecil Commerce Center, built on the grounds of the former Naval Air Station Cecil Field, which closed as a Navy base in the 1990s and now holds Cecil Airport and a large employment district. NAS Jacksonville is close for much of this area, roughly 6 to 10 miles from Argyle Forest and Normandy. Homes range from mid-century houses to newer subdivisions and rural acreage farther west. Herlong Recreational Airport, a small general aviation field off Normandy Boulevard, is a local landmark. Public schools are part of Duval County Public Schools.
